What Is The TRX Suspension Trainer?


The TRX Suspension Trainer by Fitness Anywhere originated in the Navy Seals.  The product itself is a simple design weighing only 2 pounds that utilizes a person’s leveraged bodyweight and specific angles to create one intense cardio and resistance training workout.  The TRX is becoming increasingly popular by many professional athletes (Drew Brees, Carmelo Anthony, Bas Rutten, Brady Quinn, and also been used on the Biggest Loser)  as well as beginners to the exercise realm.

My Honest Review Of The TRX

I purchased the TRX last summer after researching it for about a month.  I came across a lot of blogs and forums essentially saying to create your own version instead of purchasing the TRX.  Well I tried that method and it does not even compare to the quality of the TRX  and there is a very slim chance that what you built will outlast the TRX.  My impression before using it was it will be a great product to have when I am strapped for time.  My other thought was if it would even really give me any results.

I still remember the first workout I did with it.  The pro pack comes with a total body workout that lasts ten minutes. By the end of the ten minutes I was a little humbled and very excited to keep testing it out.  The great thing about the TRX is that any person with any fitness level can use it for a variety of exercises such as stretching, resistance training, cardio work, core work, etc.  After watching various videos and creating different workouts I must say that the TRX is hands down one amazing product.  I actually use it nearly everyday now.

Did I See Any Results Using the TRX?

After using it one month, here is what I saw.  My abs and obliques not only got stronger, but a lot more defined.  I did core work on it three times per week for one month.  I only did about 15 minutes per core workout.  I also noticed my biceps and arms gained lean muscle and they are more defined now as well.  My legs, chest, nearly every muscle group I worked out I can see improvement.  I have been using it now for about 6 months and keep finding new routines to do to push myself.  The results come with hard work, but I promise you if you keep using the TRX, you see great results.

Would I Recommend the TRX My Best Friend?

I give my 100% full stamp of approval on this product.  It classifies as a high cost high/reward product.  It is durable, fun to use, challenging, useful for all fitness levels, and the workout combinations you can do are almost endless.  If you are looking for a fitness product that will keep you motivated, in shape, and enjoyable this is the creme of the crop.  The TRX Pro Pack costs $189.00.  That is why I have it classified as high cost high value.  I got rid of my gym membership shortly after buying the TRX to offset the cost and I have not even wanted to go back.

The Pros outweigh the cons.  Don’t waste your money on fitness products that do not work.  The TRX works and is great to have.
